Camping at Chisasibi

Postby Jeff_Tatterson » Mon Nov 13, 2006 6:50 pm

We travelled the road to Chisasibi in August, 2006. At the registration booth we received a map of Chisasibi that showed a campground there. When we arrived we couldn't find it. The next day the tourism director (Joe), looked at the map and said he hadn't seen it before and there was no campground. But, we were welcome to camp on the beach on the bay. You probably should stop at the tribal office to get permission or if you arrive on Sunday (like we did) you might want to leave a note in the door to tell them you are there and stop in the next day.
A lot of maps also don't show the campground on Lac Matagami about 39 km from the beginning of the road. Real nice.
