I'm new to the site. I plan to take a run from Nova Scotia to Radisson by motorcycle this summer. Looks like this site will be very helpful. I will post my propsed schedule for comments shortly.

This is my initial plan for the run up to Radisson. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Saturday July 18th - Leave Nova Scotia, arrive in Saguenay, Quebec 980 km
Sunday July 19th - Leave Saguenay, arrive in Matagami via rt. 170, 167, 113 640 km
Monday July 20th – Matagami to Radisson, then over to Chisasbi, back to Radisson 800 km
Tuesday July 21st – Tour one or two dams
Wednesday July 22nd – Head back towards Nova Scotia via Rt. 117.

Total trip 5000 km

Sounds like a great trip.

Hopefully the black flies will be dying off by then.

Is there a 'short cut' from Waswanipi to Matagami? That would be nice if there is. The only other suggestion I would make is going back by 101 and following the Ottawa River back. I haven't been that way, but with what I've seen of the Ottawa, it has to be beautiful. Your going to have a great time.

There is a forestry road that cuts cross country. If I can get a good map and if the weather is good, I might try it. A lot of "ifs". Thanks for the not on the 101 for my return.

Any info on the forestry roads would be appreciated. (rt 1000, 1005 I think)

It all depends on the weather but chances are that the blackflies will be in full force at the northern end of the road. Just be prepared and also know that mosquitoes are annoying too and may be bad.
