HOW TO REGISTER

Well, it's been a nice break, but now the spammers are back in full force!

So ... effective immediately, here's the new way to join these forums:

DO NOT try to register the usual way by clicking the "Register" link. It won't work.
Follow the "Email Me" link on the main website and send me an email via the form on that page.
Please include your chosen username for the forum and a password.
And you must also provide some reasons for wanting to join.
Why?
So I can filter out the automated requests from spam engines. If you type in a reasonable few sentences about why you want to join, then you are probably not a spammer.

I apologize for the inconvenience of this, but it seems to be a reasonable compromise to me, to still allow people to register for the forums, but at the same time keeping the spammers out.

And please remember that I do go away from time to time, so there may be a delay in registering you.
